Metrocard Hidden Fee
Remember if you are in New York to save your metrocards because if you don't you will be charged $1 for every new card that you purchase.
This Saturday and Sunday, August 10 and 11, in Queens, New York, there will be a dragon boat festival. The event will be held at Flushing Meadows Park. There will be a total of 73 races over the two day period. The event will be held rain or shine so if its not raining come and join the fun. The best way to get to the event is by subway because parking permits will not be issued. If you do plan on taking your car you have to park at CitiField and take the event bus, for this you need to purchase a metrocard. By subway you can take the E, F, R trains to Jackson Heights- Roosevelt Avenue and transfer to a Flushing bound 7 train to Mets- Willets Point or just take the 7 to Mets- Willets Point. By bus, take the Q48 on Roosevelt Avenue to Mets- Willets Point and transfer to the event bus. The special buses operate between Shea Stadium subway station and the Flushing Meadow Park festival site from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The Shea Staduim subway station is nearby to Shea Stadium parking lots for people who plan to drive.
